Tortoise beating the hare to the finish line

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

We have all experienced the excitement of starting a new gym membership and going every day in the first week. However, by the second week, the soreness from the first week may discourage us from going, and before we know it, weeks have passed without us even considering going again.

Making significant dietary changes is no different. If we try to make too many changes too quickly, we might lose our initial enthusiasm, and the effort of sticking to all the new habits might become too overwhelming. As a result, we may start to miss things out, lose motivation, and eventually give up.

Success lies in starting small and creating new habits one step at a time, building on them week by week. Gradually, we can transform our diet to a more healthful and nutritious one. Small changes can add up to significant health benefits in the long run. This approach is much better for our health than cycling between an all-or-nothing approach that leads to yo-yo dieting, which can have detrimental effects on our metabolism as well as our self-esteem.
